C'est à Bombay, au Pea Berry Beach Caffe exactement que j'ai rencontré Andrew T. MacKay. Le petit troquet de notre ami commun, Vicky, était à l'époque une sorte de destination quotidienne où l'on pouvait se connecter au WiFi gratuitement, boire de très bons Latte et manger des Club Sandwiches très fréquentables. À force de nous y croiser, Andrew et moi avons sympathisé puis commencé à trainer ensemble.

Andrew est musicien. C'est encore le terme qui le décrit le mieux. Avec son ami Garry Hughes, ils forment l'excellent duo électronique Bombay Dub Orchestra. Andrew est aussi compositeur de musiques de films, de Bollywood à Hollywood, en passant par Londres, ses morceaux ont habité des images que vous avez sûrement déjà vu. Enfin, il est Chef d'orchestre. Oui, oui avec la baguette, comme Harry Potter, sauf qu'Andrew, lui, fait vraiment de la magie.

Voici quelques photos prises alors qu'il enregistrait des morceaux pour un film international intitulé Semshook. Certaines images ont été prises au fabuleux studio d'enregistrement Yash Raj de Bombay, considéré par de nombreux pros comme l'un des meilleurs au monde.

It was in Bombay, at the Pea Berry Beach Caffe to be precise, that Andrew T. MacKay and I met. Our mutual friend Vicky's little caffe was our common daily destination. It was a place where we could browse the internet using the free WiFi connection, drink a rather nice Latte and eat tasty Club Sandwiches. After meeting a few times there, we became friends and started to roam around together.

Andrew is a musician. Well, a Musician with a big M. Along with his friend Garry Hughes, his is behind the name Bombay Dub Orchestra, an excellent downtempo electro band. Andrew is also a music compositor for the cinema, from Bollywood to Hollywood, and off course in British productions, his musics have inhabited lots of images that I'm sure you've already seen. And last, but not least, Andrew is an orchestra Conductor. Yes, with a baton, just like Harry Potter and his wand … Except that Andrew actually does real magic!

Here are a few photos shot as Andrew was recording some of his compositions for an international feature film titled Semshook. Some of these pictures were taken at the fantastic Yash Raj recording studios fo Bombay, that many recognized pros consider as one of the best in the world.
