Tout est là. Le Café Racer Tour tel que l'ont imaginé les T-boys, Guillaume, Alexandre et Benoit Tirard, n'est pas si éloigné que ça du concept originel et mythique du Café Racer. À savoir, se retrouver entre gens de bonnes fréquentations - des motards, quoi - dans un bar, avec des bécanes plutôt très bricolées, mettre de la musique de type Balance et Roule, et partir faire le tour du paté de maison en faisant plus ou moins la course et surtout beaucoup de bruit, et enfin boire des coups, toujours entre mêmes gens de bonnes fréquentations - entre motards, quoi.
Mais Guillaume, Alexandre et Benoit savent bien qu'on n'est plus dans les années soixante, donc exit la course, on garde ça pour des événements comme Iron Bikers. Par contre, tout le reste y est, dans le désordre mais tout y est bel et bien ! Rendez-vous devant la concession Royal Enfield Tendance Roadster à Levallois, un tour entre potes (à peine 200 motos) jusqu'à la Porte Dauphine, puis arrivée chez Laure et Thomas Chartier pour boire des coups (raisonnablement, on est en bécane quand même), écouter du rock live et se faire photographier sur la dernière Enfield. Éh ben elle était bien cool c'te p'tite soirée. Merci à tous !

This is the T-boys' success story (Guillaume, Alexandre and Benoit Tirard). They call it the Café Racer Tour and it's not that far from the initial concept from the sixties. Take a pack of good and tasteful people - motorcycle riders, of course - who'd meet in a cafe, insert a coin in the juke box, grab their bikes for a little noisy race around the block and try to get back (alive) before the end of the tune, and then share a drink and have a chat.
But Guillaume, Alexandre and Benoit know that the sixties are long time gone, so it's not about racing anymore. They keep that part for specific events such as Iron Bikers. Yet, for the rest, they've kept it all, only not in the same order. We met in the evening at their Royal Enfield dealership, Tendance Roadster (Levallois-Perret, Paris), we went for a one hour ride across Paris (we were just a few friends, I don't think that there were more than 200 bikes), and we all gathered at Laure and Thomas Chartier's restaurant to have a beer, listen to live rock'n roll and get photographed on a beautiful Royal Enfield Continental GT (that was my job). Well, it was a nice and quiet little evening. Thanks guys!

Vaines Caves, deuxième

Je suis super content et fier de cette seconde collaboration avec l'excellente compagnie Vaines Caves. Un shoot, avec Virginie et Jérôme, en extérieur et en lumière naturelle par un beau matin de novembre. Quelques heures d'échange et de graphisme pour créer l'affiche, et voilà ! Ça se passe à Châteauroux, ce week end et c'est déjà complet. Du coup, une seconde date a été programmée, le lendemain. Si vous êtes dans le coin, venez voir. C'est sobre, c'est net, c'est curieux. C'est beau.

I am really glad and proud of this new collaboration with the very cool guys from Vaines Caves. This is the second creation from scratch for Virginie Andreu, and her first time on stage with Jérôme Piatka. We did an awesome outdoor shoot on a beautiful November morning, in natural light, and after a bit of work at the computer, here is the result! The show takes place in Châteauroux (France), this week end, and it is already fully booked; so they had to open a second date, on Sunday. If you're around, just come. Their stuff is neat, clear and curious. Just superb.

Salon de la Moto 2013

Après Moto Légende, Tendance Roadster m'invite à nouveau à exposer mes photos, cette fois au salon de la moto de Paris, sur le stand Royal Enfield, off course. Le salon se tient au parc des expositions de la porte de Versaille, du 3 au 8 décembre. Rendez-vous hall 8 / stand 44.

(NOT) ON ANY GRAY DAY

Un dimanche de grisaille, finalement c'est parfait pour rouler en anglaise, surtout quand on est un gentleman. Bon, si on n'a pas d'anglaise, c'n'est point du tout grave. On peut venir avec son allemande, sa japonaise, son italienne, voir même son américaine ou sa russe… Néanmoins, en tant que gentleman, vrai gentleman, je veux dire, on se doit d'avoir la classe en toute circonstance. Costard dont on a rentré les bas de pantalon dans les bottes (quand on roule en anglaise, ça tombe sous le sens), moustache, parapluie, etc. Bref on ne vient pas au Distinguished Gentleman's Ride sapé comme Marty Mc Fly dans Retour vers le futur, mais plutôt tiré à quatre épingles, façon John Steed dans Chapeau Melon et Bottes de Cuir. Et ensuite, que fait on ? Hé bien, très chers amis, ensuite nous allons terroriser la campagne entre gens fréquentables. Pour ma part, j'étais en compagnie de mes amis Guillaume et Alexandre - de Tendance Roadster ; Guillaume roulait en Royal Enfield Continental GT, s'il vous plait. Je crois bien qu'il s'agissait de la première à mettre les pneus sur le territoire français… Quant à moi, je suis monté à l'arrière de la Bullet Classic d'Alexandre, afin de pouvoir faire quelques photos en roulant, et ce dans le plus grand flegme britannique, by Jove !
L'événement était organisé par 4H10 pour la France. Un grand merci, donc, à Nicolas et John.
The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride est en fait un événement mondial, se déroulant dans 38 pays, regroupant plusieurs milliers de motards sur 145 balades. Et tout ça le même jour et en costard !

A gray Sunday is a perfect Sunday to ride English. Especially if you are a gentleman. And if your motorcycle is not of British origin, you may bring your German one, or your Japanese, or even your American or Russian … The only mandatory part is that you have got to be classy. A gentleman must be classy in any circumstances, so on a gray Sunday, even if the rain threatens to pour, the gentleman has to wear a costume - trousers within the boots are alright, moustaches, umbrella, and so on. In other words, you do not come to The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride dressed like Marty Mc Fly, but more like John Steed. And when you are okay with the dress code, the only remaining thing to do is to go terrorise the countryside with other people of good taste. So did I go along with my friends Guillaume and Alexandre from Tendance Roadster. Guillaume rode his Royal Enfield Continental GT - the all new one, the first to hit the French roads! And Alexandre and I went on a beautiful Bullet Classic. So, let us ride with pride, by Jove!
The event was organised by the Frenchy guys from 4H10. Thanks Nicolas and John!
The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride is actually a worldwide event, followed by thousands of riders taking part in 145 rides, across 38 countries. All of this on the same day, and everybody in suit!
